Managing Discipline within the context of Employment Laws

Employers can discipline its employees in diverse ways.  The law does not mandate the types of discipline to utilize.  However, employers must be mindful that any action they take must be within the confines of the law.  The important question to ask is “Will the court reverse the disciplinary action?”  If the answer is yes to this one question, then it may be best to rethink the disciplinary action.  A reversal of the employer’s decision by the court may result in the rehiring of employee and cost the employer money and reputation.
